Control System Operator

For the Noor Energy 1 Central Tower solar facility in Dubai, we are looking for a Solar Field Commissioning Operator to manage control room activities. You will use our SFINCS control system to operate the mirrors (Heliostats) and the auxiliary solar field systems through the stages of plant commissioning: from first live solar energy, control system tuning, acceptance tests, operation optimization through commercial operation.

This is a temporary position estimated for a 12 month period.

 

Job Description:

• Control room operation of the Solar field which consists of 70,000 heliostats aimed on a tower to collect thermal energy for power generation.

• Work according to operating procedures, write a daily operation log, report issues to the manager and home office development team.

• Act as a company point of contact for coordination of commissioning work with other onsite entities.

• Multidisciplinary environment with software, control and communication systems, databases, mechanical systems.

• Shift work: usually 5 shifts per week, including weekends.

 

Position Requirements:

• Strong technological orientation and understanding of complex systems

• Fluent English - writing, reading and speaking

• Independent, accurate and responsible

• Fast learner with excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Availability to work at least 50-80% of the time in Dubai, for 2-3 months periods. Rest of the time – work from Jerusalem offices.

 

Advantages:

• Graduates of a high-school program with 5 units math/physics.

• Experience working in a software development environment and/or basic programming knowledge.
